Contacting me the first time, Alexis PIQUET, born in 1968 wrote: "What about my painting and thus me?
I paint for 20 years, since the hot breath that I received at an exhibition at the Center Georges Pompidou, with POLLOCK, DE KOONING, ROTHKO. 
My painting as abstract, but I prefer to say that I paint by instinct, spontaneously and without restraint, it is a non-figurative painting of wandering."
He has nothing to say about his painting, refusing to intellectualize his work, an approach often a source of trickery.
He paints iwith oil on canvas by enhancing the effects of substance with powdered marble.
Alexis PIQUET is an abstract expressionist; painting is a vital necessity in line with the "action painting" and "dripping" with Jackson Pollock, one of the most famous promoters.
His gestural painting on canvas leaves traces of combat that may seem, wrongly, be only by chance; in fact, his painting uses a very careful choice of colors, materials and effects of composition.
After 20 years of fighting alone with the painting -and with himself- PIQUET is only beginning to feel the need to show his work. He shall be a painter quickly recognized.
