Frederic Mercier

Frédéric MERCIER, born in 1961, is another great example of how great talent and beautiful painting can often be discovered outside the lights of the media or in places other than “the capitals of the art market". I met Frederic Mercier during the summer 2007, in the heart of the Green Venice (Poitoux region), area where I am from.
This region – that he only left while studying Art, is his primary inspiration, but this landscape of bushes, swamp, and rivers; this bountiful nature is only an excuse for him. Painting in his studio, he uses what is imprinted in his memory and in his heart or what springs from his imagination to produce more "landscapes of painting" than "paintings of landscapes."
The painting of Frederick MERCIER is universal, generously giving us the opportunity to find the trace of a landscape we remember or to use our imagination.
