David CHAMBARD, born in 1950, did n't paint these Doudous for himself and a bit for all of us, adults at times nostalgic about this object of sweet love and infinite care.
We all remember that little teddy bear so many times repaired, or secretly sent to the washing machine, that had the power to protect us from intimate monsters or from the darkness at the other end of the corridor .
His place at the table, in bed or in the car was non-negociable, and his hugs were of exclusive sweetness.
Unable to contradict us, he would obei all orders with no arguing, and be a faithfull compagnon to every adventurous experimentations.
He would always share all our points of vue with no objections.
I know some people who got rid of it only the day they got maried!
But we are certainly many more in not succeeding to forget the souvenir of that compagnon which we find now in many forms in the arms of our children and grand children.
Later,i'll invite you to discover paintings of landscapes, falling water and forests by David Chambard; you'll understand then that he is a free artiste using as well bright and dark colours or humour and seriousness.
